Gitgit Waterfall

This is truly a scenic site, not to be missed if you visit Bali. Located on the left side of the main road to Singaraja from Denpasar, just as the road begins to head down the mountain to Singaraja, it is easily accessible. It takes quite a long walk down many steps is definitely worth the trip! Aside from the waterfall's majestic beauty, it beholds a visual revelation.


Where is it near:
Gitgit is 10km south of Singaraja in north Bali.

Directions:
From Kuta head towards Kerobokan, Mengwi, Bedugal, Singaraja. Gitgit is located on a windy part of the decent to Singaraja. Well sign posted and popular due to the location on the main road.

How far from Kuta:
2.5 hours

Where is the nearest food:
If you are coming from Kuta you might want to wait till you get to Singaraja / Lovina, as there isn’t a lot at Gitgit. If you are heading south, Crackers Bar at the Candi Kuning market serves burgers, chips, Bintang, coffee etc.

How far is the waterfall from the road:
500m down steps.

Gitgit Waterfall is one of famous tourist destinations in Bali which is located in Gitgit countryside, Sukasada sub district and about 10 Km from Singaraja Town or about 70 Km from Denpasar. It was opened as a tourist destination in northern Bali in 1975.
It is set at 300 meters above sea level.
Along with the waterfall and still in the Gitgit area there is another important monument
called Bhuwana Pangkung Bangka, dedicated to the Singaraja residents who were killed during battle against the Dutch colonialists.
It is located on a hillside in the Gitgit countryside, about 17 Km from Singaraja Town.
Not far away visitors can take in the panorarmic and beautiful views of rice terraces and Buleleng Beach.
